Limerick Corner April 2024

Happy Spring!  The Friends of Limerick are back and pleased to announce that our first event for 2024 is less than a month away!  We have decided to have a vendor and craft show so we can keep the schoolhouse set up for visitors.  At our “Spring into Summer” event to be held on May 18th from 9am – 3pm, we will have several vendors set up and have a basket Raffle to help with fundraising for the upcoming renovations and restoration efforts we have planned for this year.  But don’t worry, we will have a large rummage sale towards the end of summer.

We will also have scheduled visits, open to the public, on the First and Third Sundays of the month from 1pm to 3pm. This now provides three sites to visit each first and third Sunday in Akron, ie. the Limerick Schoolhouse, the Octagon House and the Knight Sutton Museum.

We are thrilled to tell you we have decided to host our 2nd Annual Kids Day on July 6, from 10 am – 2pm. Watch for more information in the coming months in the Akron Bugle and on our website – limerickschool.org.  The event is once again free, and we have a great line-up of activities for kids of all ages.

To review, since the basket raffle is one of our major fundraising events, please consider donating a basket or even new items for a basket.  If you can help with the donation of a basket for the raffle or Rummage Sale items, please contact Pat Popielski at 716-542-4947.

Lastly, we just want to thank all those Friends who support the Limerick time and time again.  We received two donations recently, one from the Kreher Family which will help so much with projects this year and one from the Harrington family which has been designated for a new flagpole.
