Limerick Hall Resolution Adopted

THE FOLLOWING RESOLUTION WAS OFFERED BY COUNCILMAN JENDROWSKI WHO MOVED ITS ADOPTION, SECONDED BY COUNCILMAN DUGAN

WHEREAS, the Town Board of the Town of Newstead (the “Town”) has always looked to preserve its cultural and historic resources; and

WHEREAS, the Friends of Limerick Inc., a New York Not-for-Profit Corporation is interested in leasing town owned property located at 12579 Clarence Center Road, Akron, New York 14001 (“Limerick Hall”) from the Town for the purpose of restoring it to a one room schoolhouse which would be available for tours; and

WHEREAS the Town is interested in leasing Limerick Hall to the Friends of Limerick Inc. pursuant to the terms of and conditions of the attached Lease Agreement.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TOWN BOARD AS FOLLOWS;

1.   The Town Supervisor is hereby authorized to enter into the attached Lease Agreement with the Friends of Limerick Inc.

2.   This resolution shall be subject to permissive referendum.

3.   The Town Clerk is directed to publish a copy of this resolution in the Akron Bugle and a post a copy of this resolution on the sign board of the Town within 10 days following the adoption of this resolution.

The above resolution was duly put to a roll call vote at a regular meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Newstead held on May 11, 2020 the results of which were as follows:
