Local Businesses can express interest in potential partnerships with ACS
Invitations are out for all local business to be part of a Partners in Education Advisory Board Meeting on February 13. This is an opportunity for local business and community leaders to come together to support student learning, career exploration, and workforce readiness within the Akron Central School district.
Organizers define the purpose of this meeting as an opportunity to share information about New York State’s NY Inspires (Portrait of a Graduate) initiative and the NYS Seal of Civic Readiness, and to explore meaningful ways that community partners can engage with students through real-world learning experiences.
During the meeting, current district initiatives such as Work-Based Learning opportunities, the Reverse Career Day, the Financial Reality Fair at the high school, and Career Day at the elementary level will be highlighted. There will also be a discussion on ways partners may choose to get involved, including job shadows, unpaid internships, industry tours, career days, and guest speaking opportunities.
The meeting is planned for February 13, 2026 from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. at Akron Central School – Room H185.
“Your insight and experience are invaluable as we work to prepare students for future success. Participation is flexible, and involvement opportunities can be tailored to your availability and interests,” organizers note. “Please consider joining us for this important conversation.”
RSVP by February 11, 2026 to ksaeli@akronk12.org or njohnson@akronk12.org. You will receive a copy of the agenda prior to the meeting.
