Marcia L. Albrecht
Marcia L. Albrecht of Akron passed away unexpectedly, at the age of 80 on March 29th at their winter home in Sunnybreeze, Florida. She was born on November 16, 1944 to Vernon and Bernice Long.
Marcia was the beloved wife of Clayton Albrecht for 42 years. She was the cherished mother of Melissa (Michael) Nigro and Karin (Michael) Fiegl. Stepmother of Dawn (Philip) Keppler and Clayton Albrecht Jr. Grandmother of 9 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Dear sister of the late JoAnn Pautler.
Marcia graduated from Akron Central School in 1962, was a lifelong resident and enjoyed country living. She attended Bryant and Stratton College and went on to work for the Town of Newstead as the court clerk. After many years she moved on to become a legal secretary for the firm of Nicholas, Perot, and Strauss. She then spent 25+ years co-owning and operating 2 successful golf courses with her husband Clayton, Bright Meadows in Akron and Turkey Run in Arcade. After retirement, they spent their winters in Sunnybreeze, Florida.
Marcia loved relaxing and working on jigsaw puzzles, reading, baking and entertaining for family and friends, sewing, gardening, going to garage sales with Clayton and spending quality time with Missy and Karin.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, April 10th from 5-8 p.m. at Ross Funeral Home of Akron, 10 Eckerson Avenue. A prayer service will be held on Friday, April 11th from 11 to noon with a luncheon following at the Clarence Center-Akron Mennonite Church at 11500 Clarence Center Road in Akron.
