Marlene F. Raiser
Marlene F. Raiser, born April 20, 1937 in Buffalo, New York, passed away peacefully on September 9, 2024 at Green Fields nursing home. Marlene worked in the kitchen at the Buffalo Country Club in Williamsville, NY, where she eventually retired. Her time there was deeply fulfilling and allowed her to build many lasting relationships.
Marlene was a spirited card player and enjoyed the challenge of word puzzles and games. She had a passion for gardening that inspired her to have several bird feeders and a garden planted outside her window at Green Fields. It was her hope that the staff and residents for many years to come would enjoy watching the colorful flowers and many varieties of birds just as she did.
Known by her family as “Aunt Mar”, she was a very involved and loving presence. Countless hours were spent just talking and laughing with her. No matter what the occasion, her family always knew she would show up for them. Aunt Mar didn’t just show up though. She’d show up early to help, with some delicious dish to pass, then stay to help clean up. She will be missed dearly.
She is survived by her sister, Madeline (late Richard) Atwood, and her beloved nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind several great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved dearly. Marlene was preceded in death by her parents, Jacob and Minnie (Kurtzweg) Raiser and her siblings: Arlene (Eugene) Buchholz, Anna (Robert) Caplick, Lenore (Michael) Wasko, Alice (Norbert) Schroeder, Doris (William) Gudd, Jacob (Judith) Raiser, and Sharon Tillman.
