Due to the current Covid-19 crisis the Akron Celebration Committee was forced to change their normal Fourth of July festivities cancelling the fireworks and replacing the traditional gala parade.

“During these unprecedented times, we want to encourage social distancing and we will not allow throwing of any type of candy or novelty items from the vehicles,” Celebration Chair Kathy Capan notes.  Face masks will be required if parade participants are outside of their vehicle.
