RETROPHONICS To help close out 2024 Chamber Cruise Nights

RETROPHONICS will perform from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, August 29, as the Akron Chamber of Commerce holds its last Cruise Night of the 2024 season on Main Street in Akron.  The theme for this concluding cruises is “Street, Strip, Willy’s Night” sponsored by Whiting Door.

Everyone is encouraged to come out to enjoy some great tunes, beautiful vehicles, good food, and wonderful conversation.

Akron Chamber members and friends had a full spring and summer, starting with their successful 2024 Sidewalk Sale and June and continuing with weekly Cruise Nights and West Shore Market.  Chamber leadership announced last week that there will no longer be a “Super Cruise” in September, as in past years.  “This event, although fun is very costly, time and volunteer intensive, and our board has agreed to focus our growing and passionate energy on some other exciting upcoming ventures that will be great for our community and local businesses,” Akron Chamber President Jacob Halleck explained.

“Rather than moving forward with a Super Cruise in the future, we will be redirecting our energy towards bringing back a large and organized Fall Fest for late September of 2025, so we look forward to that as well,” Halleck said.

Halleck noted that the Chamber is currently concentrating on Light up Akron which includes Christmas Tree Lighting ACS Santa Band concert, a Light Parade, and Merchant Moonlight Shopping events.  That event is scheduled for Saturday, December 14.
