Richard J. Komroy Jr

Richard J. Komroy Jr. of Akron, New York, age 70, passed on to be with the Lord on December 20, 2020.

He was born in Buffalo, NY, son of the late Richard and Melvina Komroy.  Beloved Husband of Annette (nee Kerr) for 47 years. Cherished Father of Eric (Phyllis) Komroy and Elizabeth (Colin) Gillooly.  Loving Gramps of Maya and Wyatt.  Dear Brother of Carolyn Komroy, the late Audrey Komroy Devine, Melanie (Lawrence) Slieker, Pamela (late Michael) Trombley and the late Jeffrey Komroy.

Cherished nephew of the late Geraldine D. Komoroy and the late Mary Jane and Stephen Sabella.  He leaves behind cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.

Retired from the Town of Amherst Engineering Dept., Richard was an avid Sportsman who loved hunting, fishing and the great outdoors.  He was an artisan and craftsman who expressed his expertise through carpentry, landscaping and creating a variety of beautiful items for loved ones.  Entertaining and gatherings with friends and family was where he shined the brightest.

He enjoyed feeding the birds and loved his fur babies past and present.  Richard was always active in the Community.  He served as a NYS Bow Hunting Safety Class Instructor, was a member of the SCHA Sportsman Club, Member and Volunteer of the Newstead Historical Society, Member and Volunteer of the Clarence Center Church of Christ.  He won many awards for his Archery skills.

He chose to have his body donated to the University at Buffalo Anatomical Gift Program for Research purposes.  Memorials can be sent to the Buffalo Audubon Society 1610 Welch Rd., N. Java, NY 14113 or The Newstead Historical Society at PO Box 222, Akron, NY 14001.  A Memorial Service and Celebration of Richard’s life will be held in the Summer of 2021.
