Rodney E. Bower
Rodney E. Bower, born March 20, 1940, lone child of Earl W. Bower and Mahala Mae Smith.
Rodney was the caretaker of Pioneer Cemetery for 40 years and worked at Strippit and Ward Hydraulics. Rod loved playing euchre with his friend Wally and hunting with his friend Nolan.
He also was an Allstar in trapshooting with his friend Don Rickwalt. He was elected into the New York State Trapshooting Hall of Fame in 1980 and was an All-Star Team Captain. He won NYS Title 3 times, twice in singles and one in doubles, western zone 3 times.
Rod’s survivors include Shirley Mae Parker, his wife for more than 60 years; a daughter, Lani Lynn Jendrowski and son, Russel Earl Bower, and a special dog, “Angie.” “A special thanks to those 2 great grandkids Marit and Jena and my son in law Rambo, one hell of a man.
