Rotary Club of Akron-Newstead installs officers

Gathered for a socially distanced dinner, The Rotary Club of Akron-Newstead installed officers and directors for the 2020-2021 year, on Thursday, July 16.

Outgoing President Ron Konieczny II presided at the event.  He honored Rotarian Greg Schmidt for 30 Years of Perfect Attendance as Mr. Schmidt joined the celebration by ZOOM.

Konieczny noted that the Club had a good year, with a successful golf tournament, Ocktober Fest, Christmas Auction, and response to COVID as they kept finding ways to help the community and went on ZOOM to hold meetings.  “We persevered and kept going,” Konieczny said.   “The Butterfly Effect, where we help our community in our own ways.”
