Rotary Club of Akron-Newstead installs officers

Earlier this summer, the Rotary Club of Akron-Newstead installed and welcomed a new board for the 2025-2026 year as they continue to live out their motto of Service Above Self within the local community and internationally.

Installed were President Jacob Halleck, Vice President and Youth Services Jeannine Morlacci, Treasurer Patty Buckley, Secretary Tim Martin, Vocational Services Keith Hatswell, Community Service Peter Forrestel, International Service Cheryl Johannes, Club Service Tom Brady, Rotary Foundation Wally Smith, and Past President John Schrock.

“In the short time I have been a Rotarian, I have been amazed by the monumental impact our local club has made to our community, surrounding communities, and internationally. Seeing, and participating in many of these projects has truly amazed me, and continuing the vision of service above self is everyone’s passion within the Akron Newstead Rotary Club. This past year, we have accomplished so many projects and have quite the plan for the upcoming year. I’d like to thank, now Past President, Jeannine Morlacci for her passion and selflessness as our leader this past year. Under her direction we were able to finish installing the 80 Ft flag pole in Veterans Park, continue our mission work in the Dominican Republic, remodel and move our club, the Akron Lion’s, Akron Lady Lion’s, Akron Chamber, Akron Boy scouts, and Hearts & Hands into the “Akron Rotary Community Wright Center” on Church Street, give many gifts and food to local families at Christmas time, sponsor a service dog for in need Veterans, help local families in need, and much more! I look forward to following in her footsteps and continuing to lead our club through these amazing projects, and having a laugh and a blast while we do it. Our community is a blessing and our club is a blessing. A special Thank you to everyone in our community that continues to support our club!”  President Jacob Halleck said.
