Roy D. Bauer

A Celebration of Life will be held for Roy D. Bauer, who went to be with our Lord on December 25, 2021, on Saturday, June 18, 2022 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Newstead Fire Hall Pavilion, 5691 Cummings Rd., Akron, NY.

Family and friends will gather to share some of our favorite memories, our stories, to laugh, to cry, and remember a wonderful person who is greatly missed. Fireman Ceremony and Pastoral Message to start at 3:30 p.m.

Roy was born in Buffalo on August 29, 1939 to the late Roy Alexander and Josephine (Rowland) Bauer.

Roy attended Kensington High School in Buffalo. He worked in many capacities at the General Motors plant on Delevan Avenue and retired after 39 years. He was a member of the Newstead Fire Company for over 25 years, where he held numerous positions. He was also a longtime member of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, where he also served on the church council.  Roy loved talking to and being around people.

Loving father of Donald (Renee) Bauer, Barbara (Jerold) Edgar, Linda (Christopher) Danner, Cheryl (John) George, Michele Wierczbicki; beloved grandfather of 8: Stephanie (Steven) Johnston, Stephanie George, Patricia (Jacob) Hoene, Michael George, Derek Edgar, Kiersten Danner, Haley George, Mitchell Edgar; dear brother of Melvin (Sareen) Bauer, Lon Lindner, Susan Leone. Several nieces and nephews also survive him. Roy is predeceased by his wife, Clare (nee Lindner) and two sisters, Judith Thuman and Janette Rowland-Preston-Furlow.
