Sheriff’s Office blotter includes stolen vehicle, tree blocking road

Below is a sampling of the noteworthy incidents in Akron and Newstead as called into the Erie County Sheriff’s Office from March 15 to March 21, 2020.

March 15, 2020

Police responded to Steiner Rd. for a report of a disturbance. No charges were filed. All parties involved were separated for the night.

Police responded to Rapids Rd. for a report of a stolen vehicle. A report was taken and the matter is under investigation.

March 16, 2020

First Aid responded to Westgate Ave for a lift assist.

Fire responded to a report of a brush fire on Main St, the fire was put out.

Police responded to Greenbush Rd. for a custody dispute, all parties were advised.

Deputies assisted with a custody dispute on Greenbush Rd.

March 17, 2020

Police responded to Hawthorne St for a report of a suspicious noise.

Fire responded to Main Rd. for a fire alarm. It was a false alarm.

March 18, 2020

First aid responded to Westgate Ave. for a female possibly having a stroke.

Police responded to North Millgrove Rd. and Main Rd for a report of branches in the road, they were removed.

First aid responded to Holly St for a female who needed a lift assist.

March 19, 2020

First aid responded to Randy DR for a male with hip pain,

First aid responded to Wesley Dr. for a male not feeling well.

Patrol responded to Main Rd. for a tree blocking the road. It was removed by the homeowner.

A two-car motor vehicle accident was reported on Crittenden Rd. No injuries were filed.

March 20, 2020

Police responded to Main St for a report of an ATV riding up and down the street. They were advised.

Police responded to a business on Main Rd. for a burglary alarm. It was a false alarm.

Fire responded to Nice Rd for a report of power lines and poles down, utility companies were notified and responded.

March 21, 2020

Police responded to Indianola Av for a burglary alarm. It was a false alarm.
