Shirley Marie (nee Childs) Denning

Shirley Marie (nee Childs) Denning passed away on June 20, 2025. A lifelong resident of Clarence Center, she spent her life loving her family and serving the Lord. A member of Clarence Church of Christ since 1952, Shirley was devoted to the life of the church. Shirley was known for her kindness and compassion.

Shirley is survived by her sons, Mark Denning, Robert (Rachelle) Denning and Brian Denning; grandchildren, Alyssa (Korey) Dwyer and Arik (April) Denning; great-grandchildren, Charlie Dwyer and Griffin Denning. Besides her parents, Laurence and Delia Childs, she is also predeceased by her husband LeRoy Denning and her siblings, David (Carol) Childs, Dorothy Nowak, Helen Atwell, Robert Childs and Wilber Childs.

A visitation to honor and celebrate Shirley’s life will be held on June 23, 2025, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Ross Funeral Home of Akron, located at 10 Eckerson Avenue, Akron, NY. A funeral service will follow at 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial at Evergreen Hill Cemetery in Corfu, NY will be private, reserved for immediate family.
