Staffing shortages continue to delay garbage pickup

Both the Town of Newstead and Village of Akron have learned that staffing shortages at Modern may delay garbage pickups for the near future.

Residents are encouraged to put garbage and recyclables out on Fridays as usual. If it is not picked up Friday they will pick it up on Saturday

 If your garbage is not picked up by Saturday call the Newstead Town Hall or Akron Village Hall on Monday.  New drivers may take time getting to know the routes and some streets have been missed.
