Stuart P. Jamieson
Stuart P. Jamieson, 94 of Basom, New York April 24, 2022. He was born on the Tonawanda Seneca Nation Territory on December 24, 1927 to the late Lillian Blackchief.
Stuart attended Akron Central High School and joined the United States Marine Corps. He was the Sachem Chief of the Tonawanda Seneca Nation Hawk Clan and was enrolled with the Seneca Nation of Indians. He was a member of the Iroquois Legion Post in Irving New York. For over twenty years Stuart headed the Indian Desk at the United States Department of Agriculture in Washington DC.
He was very athletic and enjoyed playing basketball, football, and lacrosse. He scored his last competitive lacrosse goal when he was 83 years old.
Stuart will be remembered as a kind, gentle man with a fine sense of humor.
Beloved father of LuAnn (Lawrence Isaac) Jamieson, Sheldon (Denise) Sundown and Gary (Tara) Sundown. Proud grandfather of numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Loving uncle of several nieces and nephews. Stuart is predeceased by a brother, Donald Sundown.
