Town Historian seeks ‘family photos’
Town of Newstead Historian, Beverly Summe is putting together a picture board of “Families of Newstead” for the Bicentennial, to be on display at the Cultural Center.
With your help, residents of the past and present will be included. The pictures can be a simple snapshot or other. The Historian will make copies while you wait, or you can send them digitally to Historian@townofnewstead.com or there is also a drop box outside the historians office for copies that you made. The historian’s office is located in the lower level of the library in the “Cultural Center”. The office is open on Tuesdays from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.
Beverly stated, “We are all ancestors of the future, we are celebrating 200 years together as a community of family and friends. Don’t be forgotten. Our ancestors count on us to be remembered. In another 100 years you can be remembered too as the picture board will become part of the archives of the town’s history.”
Pictures will be accepted until June.
