Travel ban now Travel advisory in Akron and Newstead
The Village of Akron and Town of Newstead are now under a Travel Advisory, downgraded this morning from the ban in place since Friday.
Storm shelters that were set up in the Akron Fire Hall and Faith Fellowship Church were closed Christmas night according to Emergency Manager Dan Kowalik and the one at Newstead Fire Hall was down to a few people.
As of Christmas night power was restored to all by three customers in the Town and Village of Akron, with the exception of a hand full of home services, maintained power throughout the storm.
Kowalik reports all roads in the Village are open and accessible and most in the Town are open although not all.
Pixley’s ShurFine is open until 5 p.m. today, Monday, December 26 for those who need supplies and gas.
