Trip Conover
Trip Conover, 81, passed away on Saturday, May 29, 2021 following a short illness. Born January 20, 1940 in Buffalo, New York, he was the oldest of three children of Bruce Keator Conover, Jr., and Betty Nelson Conover. He is predeceased in death by his parents, his brother Nelson Garrett “Gary” Conover, and his son Andrew Todd Conover.
Trip graduated from The Nichols School in 1957 and attended Hamilton College. Upon graduating in 1962, he enlisted and honorably served his country in the U.S. Army from 1962 – 1965. For a short period of time Trip was employed by The Gow School as a Teacher and Dorm Master. Later he served as a Supervisor at Fisher Price Toys in East Aurora, New York where he grew up. He finally found what he loved to do while working at the Kreher Family Farms in Clarence, New York. He worked there for 45 years until his retirement.
He is survived by his loving wife Alberta Rouleau Conover, his son Michael Garrett Conover (Kelly), his grandson Garrett “Grey” Conover, his five stepsons, John, James, Michael, Mark, and Kevin DiRosa. He is also survived by his sister Elizabeth “Betsy” Conover Simmons (Bradley), niece and nephew Elizabeth Simmons and Bradley “Win” Simmons Jr. (Ariel) of Atlanta, Georgia, as well as his sister-in-law Emily “Muffett” Robbs Conover, and his niece Bry Conover Daves (Jason) of Talladega, Alabama.
A Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Friday, September 17, 2021 at Ross Funeral Home of Akron, LLC.
