Village of Akron approves contract as water tank project moves forward
Authorizing the Mayor to sign a contract with Municipal Solutions for work related to a project at the Village Water tank on Crittenden Road during their meeting Monday night, Village Board members took another step to move the project forward.
Earlier this year, Akron Village Board members voted to accept a grant award from a Bipartisan Infrastructure Law General Supplemental (BIL-GS) funding through the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF) in the amount of $4,550,000 and BIL-GS interest free financing of $1,950,00 for improvements at the Village of Akron Water Plant in Bennington and Water Tank on Crittenden Road.
Included in the planned capital project are Storage Tank Improvements and TTHM Removal.
Treasurer Sarah Michel told Board members that new payroll software should be online by February and that she continues to provide information as needed for the Villages planned Electric Rate case.
Building permits were issued for a fence at 17 Shepard Ave, pool at 42 Cedar St., Windows at 154 East Ave., Hot Water tank at 5 Cedar St., Porch at 17 Shepard Ave., Sewer rea[or at 12975 Clarence Center Road, Generator at 6 Madison Ave, Driveway at 6 Crescent Dr., roof/molding at 57 Main St., and roof at 2 Stoneridge Lane.
