Village of Akron Mayor shares words of appreciation
Reflecting on a full year of operations during a Pandemic, Village of Akron Mayor Carl Patterson shared words of appreciation for Village of Akron Trustees, employees, volunteers, and residents during the 2021-2022 Village annual meeting on Monday night.
Patterson noted that the Village was able to maintain services throughout and “continues to work safe each and every day.” “Thank You to all our employees, department managers, Akron Fire Company, Trustees, and partner vendors,” Patterson said.
Work to cut costs in anticipation of lower revenues due to the economy, resulted in the Village entering the new fiscal year in a strong position in “all enterprise funds.” Patterson said. He said that even with those constraints the Village was able to move forward on the Wastewater Treatment Plant upgrade, now in Phase 2, was able to work on street projects and is set to complete a number of projects over the next few months.
