White Whiskers Senior Sanctuary ribbon cutting
RIBBON CUTTING – Village of Akron Mayor Brian Perry and founder Polla Milligan officially cut the ribbon opening White Whiskers Senior Sanctuary on Lewis Road, Akron. The labor of love for Milligan and many volunteers created this unique kennel free dog shelter in Western New York. Their goal is to create a space to ease the stress that senior dogs experience when they lose their homes and families by providing a compassionate option to live out their years in safety, comfort, and peace. Adoptions are, with over 250 already placed since 2020. The sanctuary currently has 25 adoptable dogs between the ages of 7 and 17, and will be accepting dogs 7 or older. Photos by Craig Wilkins
