Akron Lioness Pies in the Park set for Friday, July 10

The Akron Lioness Organization invites you to attend their annual fundraiser “Pies in the Park” scheduled for Friday, July 10 in the Russell Park Shelter for the Community Band Concert.  Lionesses will offer delicious homemade pies and desserts, as well as coffee and water for your enjoyment beginning at 7 p.m.  Pies are sold by the slice or whole. “Plan on purchasing a slice of pie to enjoy during the band concert and take a whole pie home for your weekend family gathering!” organizers invite.  “Lionesses kindly solicit the support of the Akron/Newstead Community for this fundraiser.  Pies in the Park will be held rain or shine.  Hope to see you there!”

Lionesses will also offer a “Mum Coupon Sale” featuring Bedford’s beautiful Mum’s.  Coupons may be purchased during Pies in the Park, Friday, July 10, and from Lioness members.  Coupons can be redeemed from September 1st through September 30th at Bedford’s Greenhouse. 

The Akron Lioness Organization offers two annual scholarships for graduating Akron High School Seniors.  This year’s Akron Lioness $500 Scholarship winners are Marissa Brege and Muira Kreher. Each year the Akron Lioness Organization assists Bedford’s Greenhouse with hanging Baskets for the Main St. Business District and supports other worthy community projects.

The Akron Lioness Organization thanks everyone who helped make the Akron Lioness Lottery Ticket Cash Raffle held Saturday, June 20, 2026, for the annual Sidewalk Sale on Main Street in Akron’s historic Business District a success. Congratulations are extended to Nicole Affolter for winning the prize of $150 in Lottery Tickets and $150 in cash. Thank you Nicole for generously gifting back to the Akron Lionesses a portion of the cash prize.  “Many thanks are extended to Barb Thoma for organizing this event each year,” Lionesses said.
