The Akron Celebration Committee is happy to bring back New Year’s Eve in Russell Park. The “Family Friendly” festivities begin at 11:30 p.m. with music, hats and more. There will be a ball drop at midnight to welcome in 2022, followed by an incredible fireworks display. This is an alcohol-free gathering and glass bottles are prohibited. The event is funded entirely through donations. Without community support and our volunteers, these traditions would not be possible. Donations can be made to the Akron Celebration Committee, PO Box 16, Akron NY 14001. We wish everyone a safe and healthy 2022.

The Wright Entertainment Series at the C. Dee Wright Community Ministry Center, 11 Church Street, continues January 15 at 7 p.m. as the Heenan Brothers perform. All are invited to come for an evening of Americana music full of folky, bluesy music with a touch of Canal Blues. Betty’s Bistro will be open for specialty coffee. Movie Night at the Wright is planned at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 5. All are invited to come enjoy an evening with Shrek. |
