Akron Chamber of Commerce Super Cruise and Craft Show – Main Street Akron, Saturday, September 17.  9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Annual Akron Lions Club Steak Dinner is Saturday, September 17 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. (Dinner served 5 to 8 p.m.) at the American Legion, 9 Eckerson Avenue.  Purchase tickets online at www.akronlions.com or reserve at the Pre-Sale Price by e-mailing akronnylions@gmail.com.

The Akron Celebration Committee is hosting New Year’s Eve in Russell Park again this year. The “Family Friendly” festivities begin at 11:30 p.m. with music, hot cocoa and more. There will be a ball drop at midnight to welcome in 2023, followed by an incredible fireworks display. This is an alcohol-free gathering and glass bottles are prohibited. The event is funded entirely through donations. Without community support and our volunteers, these traditions would not be possible. Donations can be made to the Akron Celebration Committee, PO Box 16, Akron NY 14001. The committee wishes everyone a safe and healthy 2023.

Assemblyman Steven M. Hawley will hold a Community Outreach event at the Newstead Public Library, Main Street, Akron, on Tuesday, January 31, 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Chiavetta's Chicken Dinner – sponsored by the Akron Boy Scout Troop 559 in Russell Park, Akron, NY – February 12, 2023 11:00 a.m. until sold out.  Presale tickets must be picked up by 12:30 p.m.

Knight-Sutton will open their newest exhibit, “Newstead 200 Years” on Sunday, May 7.  It is a special exhibit honoring the Town of Newstead's Bicentennial.
