The Akron Celebration Committee will sponsor Fireworks in Veterans Park on Friday, July 3. The Akron Community Band will present a concert beginning at 7 p.m. The Newstead Exempt Club will have refreshments for sale as will some food trucks. Fireworks at dusk.
Newstead Historical Society celebrates the nation's 250th anniversary with their popular annual fundraisers - the Amish quilt raffle and baked pies sale at the Knight-Sutton Museum. Both the Museum and Rich-Twinn Octagon House will be open to visitors.
Soapbox derby, activities for children, food stands and trucks, gala parade, concerts are all part of developing Fourth of July Celebration in Russell Park. Watch for details.
