Unapproved hydrant usage leads to discolored water

The Village of Akron has issued a statement to Akron Village water customers: “it was brought to our attention yesterday that there was some unapproved hydrant usage in the Skyline Drive area yesterday which caused some discolored water issues.  The village is working with the parties responsible to make sure that it does not happen again.  Any ongoing issues can be reported directly to the water plant at (585)547-9410.”

Akron Central investigating ‘no immediate threat of harm’

Akron Central School voters pass budget, bus proposition

Elect Cayea, Allen, Pingitore to Board of Education Akron Central School District voters adopted a  2022-2023 budget in the amount of $34,730,650 on Tuesday by a vote of  494 Yes to 119 No.  The proposed budget represents an overall increase of $2,133,549.00 over the current budget, however projections are that the tax rate per thousand of assessed valuation will go down for all taxpayers. Voters also approved a proposition to purchase buses  by a vote of 507 Yes and 95 No. Incumbent, Heather Cayea was re-elected to the Board for another three year term with 426 votes.  Ryan Allen won
