Iroquois National Wildlife Refuge (NWR), located midway between Buffalo and Rochester, NY and is managed by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, is seeking public review of its draft Hunt Plan and compatibility determinations. These documents are proposing changes to better align with New York state hunt regulations including strategies from our approved Comprehensive Conservation Plan from 2011. BUFFALO — Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard announced effective immediately the Erie County Sheriff’s Office Civil Enforcement Division offices are closed to the public until further notice. Village of Akron Mayor Carl Patterson and Town of Newstead Supervisor David Cummings have declared States of Emergency in the Village of Akron and Town of Newstead effective at 9 a.m. Tuesday morning. A State of Emergency allows them to respond quicker and have more access to resources during the COVID-19 situation as it evolves.
