Akron High School and Middle School reminds students and parents that  sports registration for the Fall 2023 sports season is open.  Parents of Akron High School or Middle School student athletes participating in a fall sport at any level, including modified, will need to register their child on the school’s registration platform, FamilyID, at www.akronschools.org/FamilyID.

Registration is currently open for those wishing to participate in varsity, junior varsity and modified cross-country, field hockey and volleyball; varsity and JV football, boys soccer and girls soccer, varsity cheerleading and golf.

Beginner Team makes it to the Championship

Akron Youth Football and Cheer- The community is invited to come out and cheer on Akron’s beginner football team Saturday, October 29 at 10 a.m. for the CHAMPIONSHIP GAME against Attica.  The game will be held on Batavia’s turf, Lions Park, Wallace St., Batavia 14020 The beginner team held a 6-2 record this season under the leadership of head coach Rick Dojnik, Assistant coach Travis Koehler and coaches Mike Zmuda and Joe Laughlin. “They will take on Attica, one of their only two losses this season, so all are invited to bring some noise and help root these boys on!

Akron Lady Tigers Cross Country finishes Second in the League

Akron Lady Tigers Cross Country team took second in the Niagara-Orleans League over the weekend.  The all-league championship was held at Lakeside Beach State Park, where the Lady Tigers raced fast and finished their season with a 10-2 record.  Beating everyone once again except for Newfane. Finishing 5th overall and making first team all-league was Kaila Szczygielski with a time of 22:16.  Making second team all-league was Kristine Wall finishing 11th with a time of 23:41 and Emma-Marie who finished 13th overall with a time of 24:13.
