Selected Tiger Athletes of the Week are Elden Ground of the varsity boys swim team and Olivia Novak of the varsity girls basketball team. Selected Tiger Athletes of the Week are Derren Brooks of the varsity boys basketball team and Madigan Regan of the varsity girls swim team. Brooks, a sophomore, plays forward for the Tigers. In their only game last week Derren posted 13 points, 15 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 blocks. Derren has also posted a single game high of 28 points in an overtime win during the Jack and Joyce Silvernail Annual Holiday Basketball Tournament at Akron High School. “Derren has really become a key member of our team success.

Read moreThe Championship game of the Jack and Joyce Silvernail Memorial Classic basketball tournament was a battle as the Pembroke Dragons, who have won the tournament multiple times, had no intentions of surrendering the crown. The Dragons dictated the tempo and physicality for most of the game, but in the end, the defense and scoring of the Tigers was too much, as they earned a 36-16 lead into halftime.

James Crooks of the varsity wrestling team and Benjamin Gerstung from the varsity basketball team have been selected. James Crooks is a junior matman in his fourth year with the Tigers varsity team. Crooks earned the first place trophy at the 56th Annual Jerry K. Drayer Memorial Wrestling Tournament hosted by Akron on December 28th. Crooks wrestles in the highly competitive heavyweight class.
