ECSO reminds Bills fans to avoid stadium construction area

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. – Erie County Sheriff John C. Garcia reports that Gilbane-
Turner, the group managing the construction of the new Buffalo Bills stadium, has

committed to adding additional security at the construction site on game days. Ahead of
Sunday’s AFC Divisional playoff game between the Bills and Chiefs, fans are reminded
that it is unlawful to trespass in the construction zone.
“We all want to see a Bills win on Sunday,” said Sheriff Garcia. “Let’s keep the focus on
the field and out of the parking lots.”
Fans seen in the construction area will be charged with criminal trespass. This season,
10 individuals have been charged for being in the construction zone on game days. The
breakdown by date is as follows:
9/17 – 1
10/1 – 1
11/13 – 2
11/19 – 3
12/17 – 2
1/15 – 1
Fans are also reminded not to throw snowballs. Additionally, with the game occurring at
night, drivers should use extreme caution. Pedestrians should make sure they are seen
by wearing bright, visible clothing.
