Cathleen M. Hake, 73, passed away on July 7, 2026. She was born on October 2, 1952, in Norfolk, VA to the late John and Eileen (Doyle) Furminger.
Cathleen worked for General Motors/Delphi for 11 years, from which she retired. She was a big fan of music, her favorite being classic rock, with Tom Petty and the Rolling Stones as her favorite bands. Cathleen served as a waitress at the Akron House, a role which showcased her innate ability to connect with people, she truly was a friend to everyone. She will be remembered for her selflessness and her kind nature. What mattered most to Cathleen was being with her family.
She is survived by her loving sons, Matthew Furminger, Charles (Melissa) Hake and Andrew Hake. She is also survived by her sister Sharon Furminger and three grandchildren. Cathleen was preceded in death by her brothers James (Barbara) Furminger and John Furminger.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 18 from 1-5 p.m. at Akron Falls Park, Shelter #10 in the lower park (Casual dress). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Akron Fire Company.
