Conrad F. Ziarniak Jr.
Conrad F. Ziarniak Jr., loving husband and resilient soul, passed away at age 88 on July 10, 2026. Born on August 20, 1937, in Buffalo, New York, to the late Conrad and Helen Ziarniak, he was a beacon of strength and generosity to all who knew him. His life was a testament to his great love for his family, his community, and his unwavering faith.
Conrad bravely served our country in the U.S. Army from 1954-1957. After his service, he was employed as a production worker for General Motors and in later years as a stockroom attendant for American Axle. Conrad was not only an industrious worker, but also a man of many interests and talents. His hobbies included auto mechanics, auto repair, bowling, and woodworking. His woodworking skills were particularly remarkable, as he crafted beautiful pieces of furniture.
He was a dedicated member of St. Teresa of Avila Church in Akron, where he found great solace and community.
Conrad is survived by his loving wife, Mildred Ziarniak. He is also survived by his children Deborah (Andrew) McGahan, Brenda (John) Affronti, Conrad A. (Mary) Ziarniak, Maureen (Gene) Ponti, Christopher (Rachel) Ziarniak and Eric (Patricia) Ziarniak. His brother Frederick (Barbara) Ziarniak, 13 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive him. Conrad was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters, and his granddaughter Rebecca Ziarniak.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, July 17th at 10:00AM at St. Teresa of Avila Roman Catholic Church, 5771 Buell St. Akron, NY 14001. A Burial with Military Honors will follow at St. Teresa of Avila Cemetery, Bloomingdale Rd. Akron, NY 14001.
