Crash on Rt 77 in Pembroke, claims life

The Genesee County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a one-car motor vehicle accident which occurred on Route 77 in the Town of Pembroke.

The Genesee County Emergency Dispatch Center received a 9-1-1 call reporting the accident at 3:05 a.m. this morning, January 29.  It was reported as a motor vehicle accident with a vehicle into a utility pole.  When patrols arrived on scene, it was determined that the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle was deceased.

The driver was identified as Jordan E Terkel, age 32, from Corfu, NY.  The Sheriff’s office reports that Terkel was traveling southbound on Route 77 in the Town of Pembroke when the vehicle traveled off the east shoulder of the roadway striking a utility pole.

Genesee County Coroner Karen Lang pronounced Terkel dead at the scene from the injuries sustained in the crash.

Members of the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office investigated the accident.  Assisting at the scene were also members of the Pembroke and Indian Falls Fire Departments.
