James R Walters

A Memorial Service for James R Walters, 59, who gained his wings on January 21, 2026, after a long hard battle with cancer, will be held on July 25 at 10 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 4809 So. Newstead Road, Akron, NY. He was born in Batavia, New York but lived most of his life in Akron, New York. He moved to Milton, Florida in December 2020.

Jim will be missed by the love of his life, Abbi Laughman of Milton, FL; his mother, Diane Walters Hurne; his children Michael (Amber) and Marc; along with his former spouse, Ruth, all of Akron NY; and his brother, Paul of Naples, FL. He will also be missed by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ronald Walters.

Jim held many jobs over the years, but he enjoyed operating the CNC at Whiting Doors in Akron, NY and Precision Lifts Industries in Pensacola, FL. He enjoyed walking his dogs – Sassy and Peach, going paddle boarding, trips to the beach, fishing, sitting at the river while playing with his RC boat and chatting with friends. Jim was a huge fan of the Buffalo Bills and never missed a game on TV. (GO BILLS!)
