Margie Rose Parks
Margie Rose Parks, 98, a beloved member of the community and a devoted foster parent, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2026.
Born in Rensselaerville, New York, Margie was a longtime resident of Sandhill Road in Akron, where she built lasting friendships and touched countless lives with her kindness, generosity, and unwavering willingness to help others. Her warm heart and compassionate spirit left an enduring impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Margie was preceded in death by her loving husband, Walter Parks; her sons, Neil and Wayne Parks; and her parents, Lawrence and Gertrude Smith.
Her lifelong dedication to fostering children was an inspiration and a reflection of her extraordinary compassion. She opened both her home and her heart to those in need, changing the lives of many children and families. Margie was also an active member of Clarence First Baptist Church, where her faith and commitment to serving others were evident throughout her life. Her legacy of love, generosity, and selfless service will continue to live on in the many lives she touched.
Prayers will be held at Acacia Park Cemetery in North Tonawanda, New York, on Friday, August 7, at 11:00 a.m. Those attending are asked to gather at the cemetery office. There will be no prior calling hours. Arrangements were made by Ross Funeral Home of Akron, LLC.
