NOTICE OF COMPLETION OF
2026 TENTATIVE
ASSESSMENT ROLL
(PURSUANT TO
SECTIONS 506 AND 526

REAL PROPERTY TAX LAW)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that the Assessor for the Town of Alden, County of Erie, State of New York has completed the Tentative Assessment Roll for the current year and that a copy will be on file on May 1st in:

The Tentative Assessment Roll can be examined in person at The Assessor’s Office during regular business hours of 9:00am to 12:00pm and 1:00pm until 4:00pm. It is also available online for viewing at the Assessor’s Home Page at https://www4.erie.gov/alden/town-assessor If a person does not have access to the World Wide Web, they may call the Assessor’s Office at 937-6969 ext. 127 for information concerning the Tentative Assessment Roll or answers to other inquiries.
The Assessor is typically in attendance with the Tentative Assessment Roll for certain periods for the public to review it and ask questions beyond regular hours is by appointment only, all inquiries must be made in advance by mail, email, phone, or by using the Drop Box located at the parking lot entrance to Town Hall.
HEARING OF ASSESSMENT COMPLAINTS
This year The Board of Assessment Review is scheduled to meet on Thursday, June 4th, 2026, between the hours of 2:00PM to 4:00PM & 6:00PM to 8:00PM., to examine and discuss all formally filed complaints in relation to assessments upon the application of any person believing that they have been aggrieved. It is imperative that a fully completed RP-524 complaint form with all supporting documentation be submitted via mail or Drop Box. Electronic applications are not acceptable. Have these hardcopies addressed to the Assessor’s Office before May 30th, 2026, if possible, to afford sufficient time to adequately prepare for the hearings. Once a properly completed complaint form is received, a complainant will be contacted to schedule an appointment for their hearing with the Board of Assessment Review. While complaints may be filed and placed in The Drop Box until 8:00 P.M. on June 4th, 2026, the Board will not hear them until a later date and time. Complainants will be contacted to schedule this appointment.
Persons who file a complaint with the Board reviewing their complaint form with personal input or letting the evidence speak for itself. The Board will inform them in writing of its decision.
Complaint forms cannot be filed until after May 1st, 2026. The complaint form and the publication “Contesting Your Assessment in New York State” are available online at NYS Tax & Finance at www.tax.ny.gov or the Assessor’s Home Page at https://www4.erie.gov/alden/town-assessor This is a public meeting where anyone is allowed to view in person. The entire proceeding will be audio recorded and available to the public shortly after the meeting.
