Residents reminded to lock their vehicles

Akron Police Chief Rick Lauricella has issued a reminder that residents should keep their vehicles locked and personal property secured in light of an increase of unlocked cars being gone through and items of worth stolen.

Lauricella reported that neighboring communities are seeing an uptick in the number of vehicles entered by unauthorized persons when left unlocked, and said that often means the numbers will increase locally as well.

Today, January 26, 2024 Lauricella reported that Akron Police and Erie County Sheriffs are now investigating recent vehicle break-ins.
