Tentative Village budget delivered to Village Board

The Village of Akron Board of Trustees received the 2008-2009 tentative budget on Monday, March 31. Under the tentative budget, the property tax rate would remain $5.87 per thousand of assessed value. Also expected to remain the same is the $41.00 per quarter refuse rate. That rate may change in January. Akron’s current contract with Modern Disposal expires on December 31, 2008 and the refuse rate could be adjusted at that time depending on the provider and negotiated rate going into the new year.
