Newstead Historical Society Update

Akron Fire Company, Inc. to receive $90,225 in Federal Grant

In separate announcements Wednesday afternoon, July 9, Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton and U.S. Representative Thomas M. Reynolds, announced that the Akron Fire Company will receive $90,225 in federal funding through the Federal Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA) Firefighter Investment and Response Enhancement (FIRE) Act grant program. The money is designated to be used for fire operations and firefighter safety.

I recently read an article about how a reverse mortgage could give my wife and I some extra income. I have been looking into this but am feeling very confused with all the different information. I would like to ask your advice in comparing or shopping for a reverse mortgage that best fits our situation. I am 79 years old and my wife is 77 and we live on our Social Security. We own our home but have few other assets.
