New Senior Coordinator has passion for helping others

Newstead Town Board members hired a new Senior Coordinator Monday night who Supervisor Jerry Summe described as having a “passion for helping others.”


Bridge will maintain historic appearance

A design for the refurbishing of the Parkview Drive bridge is currently before the state historical preservation agency for approval. Plans call for rebuilding the infrastructure and maintaining an appearance as close to the original as possible. For a full report see next week’s AKRON BUGLE.


Yankees start year with a win

Akron Pee Wee Baseball opening day was Saturday, May 8, 2004. One of the games played was the Phillies vs. the Yankees who played through the rain with the Yankees ending up on top.


Community invited to Akron Water Plant Open House

The Public is invited to see first hand how Akron's water is collected, treated and sent on its way to water customers along the gravity fed pipeline.

Town and Village to discuss Town-wide drainage proposal

The Newstead Town Board and Village Board of Trustees will hold a joint meeting at approximately 9 p.m. (immediately following the adjournment of the regular Village Board meeting) on Monday, May 17 at the Newstead Town Hall.
