John F. Snyder of Akron, New York passed away June 19, 2025.  He was born November 1, 1948, Beloved son of the late Norman and Mary (nee Clark) Snyder; cherished brother of Harriet (Arthur) Dombrowski; caring uncle of Paul (Kelly) Dombrowski and Jennifer (Jason) O’Malley. ACS Middle School students do well at Music Festival

MUSIC FESTIVAL – the Akron Central Middle School Music Department got to celebrate a year of hard work by participating in the Darien Lake Music Festival earlier this month.  The 6th Grade Band, 7th/8th Grade Band, Middle School Orchestra, and Middle School Chorus ensembles spent the morning performing three selections each for a judge in order to receive a score. This competition was the largest attended competition of the season with over 88 ensembles competing throughout the day. All of Akron’s music ensembles received a 97 or higher and additionally, all three instrumental ensembles placed in their respective age/ensemble categories
