Akron Board of Education sets tax rates, receives budget update
Akron Central School Business Administrator Cynthia Tretter met with the Board to give a budget update at their August 11 Board meeting. She noted that the District has more reserves than anticipated due to factors which changed after the budget was prepared.

Flower baskets out for rehab
Those wondering what happened to the hanging baskets in the Main Street business district on Friday afternoon, may appreciate knowing they will only be gone for a short time. Weather conditions stressed the flowers so Village of Akron DPW crews, who carefully and regularly care for them, are working with Bedford’s Greenhouse to rehab them. Watch early next week for a new display of color.
