Akron man charged following Clarence incident

The Defendant Faces Multiple Felony, Misdemeanor, and Traffic Charges Buffalo, NY – Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports that 50-year-old David Cottom, Sr., of Akron has been charged following an incident early Wednesday morning when he fled from Deputies during an attempted traffic stop and a report of a stolen vehicle later in the morning. Cottom was named a person of interest following the traffic stop attempt and a search of the area near Pineledge and Winding was initiated and involved Sheriff’s Deputies, QRF, K9 units, Air-1, and units from the New York State Police and the Amherst Police

Help sought in identifying subject

The Genesee County Sheriff’s Office is requesting assistance from the public in identifying the subject pictured below.  The subject has been developed as a person of interest in relation to a property crime being investigated in the Town of Alabama.  The subject appears to have a tattoo on his right forearm.  If you have any information, we urge you to please contact Investigator Ryan DeLong at 585-345-3000 ext. 3572.

Crash Unit investigating 3-vehicle fatal crash in Newstead

One Driver killed Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports the Crash Investigation Unit is looking into the cause of a fatal crash on April 22. The three-vehicle crash occurred around 5:40 a.m. on Maple Road near Koepsel Road in the Town of Newstead.  An operator of one of the vehicles was killed in the incident, and the drivers of the other vehicles sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Additional information about the drivers is not available at the time of this release. The crash unit is investigating the cause of the crash.
