“I will be reporting on local news and events that are happening in the Akron-Newstead community. I am very passionate about storytelling ethical news and bringing the community together,” Annie said.  “I am hoping to gain more experience in the journalism field such as reporting, interviewing, and getting a sense of what the community of Akron-Newstead is all about. I am looking forward to meeting more members of the community and everyone so far has been very welcoming.”

“I appreciate the opportunity to work with young journalists,” Editor/Publisher Marilyn J. Kasperek said.  “I believe the ability of readers to have trustworthy feet on the ground reporting about the decisions and opportunities that shape their community is vital, and am grateful there are young journalists passionate about serving communities of all sizes in all areas of media.”
