The Akron Celebration Committee’s fireworks in Russell Park Thursday night provided a vivid illustration of the national anthem’s “rocket’s red glare” illuminating the Flag in the darkness. The Celebration continues with a full day of activities on Friday.

Road closures for the Fourth of July

For the July 4th Celebration. Main St will be closed with NO PARKING 7am-7pm from Buffalo St to Church St. The Parade route of Bloomingdale Ave to Townsend St to Main St to Monroe St will be restricted NO PARKING from 2pm -7pm . The parade route will be closed and shut down to traffic by 4 p.m. Also parking will be restricted to one side of John St, Clinton St, Marshall Ave and Hoag Ave.
