Robert Bruce Mertens

Robert Bruce Mertens, 85 of Akron, passed away peacefully on Wednesday (April 22, 2020) at the New York State Veterans Home in Batavia. He was born June 9, 1934, a son of the late George and Mary Johnson Mertens. Bruce as he was known by so many people was the owner of Merts Wholesale Auto Parts in Akron.  Bruce had served his country with the U.S. Army from 1954-1956.  He was a longtime member of the Akron Newstead Rotary Club and was also a member of the American Legion and VFW.
