Village utility bills delayed customers need to contact Village

Due to unforeseen circumstances, the monthly utility bills have not arrived to Village residents.  As the bills are due on May 20th, 2025 please contact the Village Hall at (716)542-9636 for unpaid totals or to request a copy of your bill.  Any unpaid Water, Sewer or Refuse totals will be relevied onto Village property taxes after May 20th.  The Village apologizes for the inconvenience.

East Avenue resurfacing scheduled this week

The Village of Akron has announced that a contractor for Erie County will begin a temporary resurfacing project on East Avenue tomorrow, May 13, weather depending. It is planned to take three days. Please do not park on the street. Expect delays as this will be a work zone. Please use an alternate route if possible. Thank you.

She was an avid collector of Shirley Temple memorabilia and for many years played bass drum in the Akron Community Band and Corfu-Pembroke Band. Sandra Marie Meyers of Alden, New York (formerly of Friendship, NY) passed away on April 30, 2025. She was born on August 14, 1948.  She was married on August 7, 1971 to Loren Meyers who survives.  Loren and Sandi have three sons: Alan (Leigh) of Randolph, NY; James (Heather) of Sacramento, CA; and Dale (Rachel) of Alden.  She is survived by 17 grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren whom she dearly loved and enjoyed spending time with.
