2025 School year opens with inspirational messages, renovations nearly complete

Local First responders called to scene of bus crash on I-90

East Pembroke, Millgrove, Newstead, Akron, and Wolcottsville were among local fire companies called to assist following a serious bus crash on the NYS Thruway Friday afternoon. The New York State Police are investigating the crash that occurred on Interstate 90 eastbound between exits 48A and 49 in the town of Pembroke, Genesee County. Preliminary reports indicate the bus, carrying more than 50 passengers, overturned. Multiple individuals have been injured, with several confirmed fatalities. APD issues warning

The Akron Police Department has learned of a text messaging campaign that appears to be a data collection agency. The campaign asks residents of Akron to click a link and answer a survey. APD is encouraging everyone to delete and not click on any links from unknown senders.
